New MRI Scanner for Milton Keynes
InHealth is delighted to announce a new partnership with a consortium of Consultant Radiologists based in Milton Keynes in relation to a new diagnostics and imaging centre. It has agreed lease terms for a facility based in The Hub, the vibrant business and retail quarter of Milton Keynes, and the new diagnostics suite will open in February 2010.
The new scanning centre will specialize in carrying out MRI scans and other diagnostic procedures for private and NHS direct access diagnostics patients in the area. The local consortium of Radiologists has committed to work in a close partnership relationship with InHealth to ensure the success of the Facility. In addition to the provision of consulting rooms and other diagnostic equipment, the MRI suite has capacity to perform over 10,000 diagnostic scans per year on the state-of-the-art Siemens Avanto MRI scanner. The scanner will be supplemented by a full range of specialist enhancements. Diagnostic Reports will be performed by local Consultant Radiologists, and returned to the referring clinician within 48 hours of the patient’s scan.
InHealth CEO, Philip Whitecross commented, ‘We are thrilled to be shortly opening a new MRI centre and extend the provision of diagnostic and imaging services in Milton Keynes. The new centre will greatly enhance the diagnostic services provided to the community giving patient choice and assisting in managing and reducing both private and NHS patient waiting list times. We have built a strong relationship with the local Radiologists over a number of years and the strength of their commitment to this venture was a key catalyst in our decision to take this step’.
Speaking for the Radiology consortium, Dr Jeyakumar Singanayagam said, ‘The Consultant Radiologists who have been working with InHealth at Milton Keynes Hospital are delighted to be able to extend the relationship in an exciting new venture. We believe that the Centre at The Hub will represent a very high quality facility and offer an enhanced patient experience’.
